BIG NEWS!!! It's a ........

BOY!!!!!

Yesterday afternoon I got a phone call from our adoption agency.  I was surprised and thought that I must have filled out some paperwork incorrectly. But, the lady on the other end of the line said "I am calling today to let you know we have a match for your family".  I was in shock and really excited.   She said "He is a little boy, 2 years old and so cute".  She went on to share that at birth he had a small hole in his heart and latest medical records show that it is gone and he is doing great!  So, she sent me his file and we have completely fallen in love with him.
Today consisted of us talking with our family and friends, and praying.  We took his medical records to our Doctor and she gave us the green light and says he looks great.  Then we had a family meeting to confirm that everyone agreed he was ours.  The Lord gave us the scripture, Acts 15:28 For it seemed good to the Holy Spirit, and to us'.."

This afternoon, July 31st our family made the decision to bring this little boy home!!  I am not able to release his picture or info online yet.  Next week we will post his picture and share his name.
Thank you for your prayers and support!  We can't believe how fast this has all come together.  The Lord's hand has really been in every detail.  We should have him home by January 2015 unless the Lord decides he needs to come home sooner.
Can't wait to share more!!

Amazing Week

This week has been a productive week in our Adoption Process!  Monday we got a bunk bed in preparation for our new addition.  That was exciting :)  It's in Josiah's room and he is hoping for a boy to share his room with.
We also got word on Monday that we received a $5,000 grant from Show Hope!  We are so very excited about this as Show Hope has been a very vital roll in our journey of adoption.  We are blessed to receive a grant from them and join the family of Show Hope!
On Thursday July 17th we got word that the CCWA (China Center for Children's Welfare and Adoption) has accepted our paper work and we are officially in their system with a LID (Log In Date).  This means that we can look at files and begin the process of finding our child.
Thank you all for your prayers!  God is moving... quickly.
Our prayer focuses during this time:

  • The Lord will highlight who we are supposed to adopt.
  • Favor with the CCWA.
  • Our child will be safe and taken care of.
  • Our child will fit well in our family and receive the love we will give them.
  • The Lord will provide the finances above and beyond what we need so we can help someone else who is called to adopt.

Paperwork in China

We officially have sent off all the paperwork!  Our Dossier is in Colorado right now being translated to Chinese!!  It should be sent to China this week.  It's so crazy to think how close we are.  Pretty soon we will find out who our new son or daughter will be.  Please pray that all the paperwork will be accepted in China... no hang-ups in Jesus name.
We have had so many wonderful friends support us in this journey.  We couldn't have made it without your prayers, support and financial blessings.  Our family wanted to let you know that we have set up and easy way to give online if you feel led to partner with us.  We have to raise about $25,000 more dollars.  The next cost in the stage through the agency is $4,000.  Our dream would be to raise more than we need to be able to help another family who want to adopt.
Please prayerfully consider helping us bring home an orphan. We have set up a fund at our church DWC.  If you would like to give a tax detuctiable gift you can give to Destiny Worship Center and write "Kanaday Global Mission" in the Memo.  You can pay online under the online giving at http://www.destinyworshipcenter.com/give-online/

We also have set up a "You Caring" account online.  This is not tax detectable but an easy way to give.  There are no fees associated with this account.

Thank you again to all our friends and loved ones who have given already!  xoxox
